This phase of art and design can make or break the development of any game. The asset production time can actually double if this is not done well. If done right however then it is a cakewalk for the asset developers. Examples of such assets can be a game character model, dialogue lines that the character speaks, the texture that is applied to it and the animations that it can perform. A single character might require many animations and text lines and a game has dozens of characters. A medium range game has thousands of assets easily. Sounds have to be converted to the right format, cinematics should be compressed and scripts should be encrypted.
