Game Asset Creation and Process

Creating 3D models of characters, environments, weapons, and objects is the first step in bringing any 3D game to life. As a Best 3D modeling company, we create exquisitely detailed 3D assets for PC and console-based games and optimizing the same assets for mobile games, without compromising on quality. We work with a wide range of the latest 3D software and use both traditional and PBR methods to achieve high-quality results for maximum appeal.

Based on the concept art created, we either create a low or high poly version.Then we subject the models into a sculpting software and provide attributes and details to it. Once the output is convincing enough we subject it to the texturing pipeline. Here, the output is textured such that it meets the project requirements. The texturing pipeline is decided at the beginning of the project so that we get the optimized textures of the best quality. After the initial texturing is done we let our clients have a say in the work and then based on their inputs we further refine our processes. This is a crucial part of asset production in any game.

Lighting has a crucial impact on setting the mood of any game and creating an enriching overall experience for players. We know that the right lighting for each scene is the key to the representation of objects, characters, and other assets. Our lighting artists are skilled at manipulating colors and brightness to set an appropriate mood, without causing slow FPS and lags in gameplay.

Static lighting – In order to get the best and optimized output, we stick to the standard light baking process for stellar performance of the game. We bake everything around the light in an editor and calculate the effect of that light on those textures (like brightening them, coloring them) and save them as replacement textures. So all textures around the light source look like they have a light cast on them.

Dynamic lighting – We use the combination of various lights like directional lights, spotlights and point lights which are collectively called as dynamic lights. We also use a combination of skyboxes and dynamic lights such that it aligns with the mood of the game. We alter the intensity of light and shadow to fit the scene as real as possible. Then the lighting is optimized such that it is rendered effectively in the game.
